Goat death and resurrection...

My yard art goat died.         I was able to help him get resurrected. He is fine now! :)

Hash Brown Casserole...

Image
My sister in law recently made this and it was a hit at her home. So, we tried it tonight at ours. The recipe is easy: diced ham hashbrowns cream of whatever you want to use sour cream cheese salt and pepper I added mushrooms and used organic cream of chicken soup. I also added pressed mustard, pressed garlic, chopped onion, an egg, basil and oregano. We mixed it together and placed it in a buttered dish at 380* for about 40 minutes. It was a good meal!  :0)     I was unable to get a picture of it when it came out of the oven, because it got scooped over to plates so quickly...I did get a picture of the cleaned out dish. :)

Cooking corn without shucking...

Image
I thought this had to be a joke when I heard about it...so, I tried it.  You basically stick the entire corn cob in the microwave for five minutes without shucking it - so put the entire thing in there. When it is finished, cut the stalk end off and then squeeze the cob out. The corn will come out completely clean - no shucks, no silks!!  Easy peasy!! I have noticed that you can only do 2 cobs at five minutes. If you are cooking more than 2 cobs, you need to increase the time in the microwave to like 7 minutes or so.

February Christmas!

I think I should feel bad that the tree is finally down (this happened 01/31) and that all the materials are still sitting around the dining room waiting to be properly packed away and put up until Christmas season next year...but a few days, we were in a neighborhood and a family still had their decorations up outside and their wreath on the door! I am not doing so bad!  Maybe it will all be put away by the end of this month...maybe. :)
